I took a great trip to Santa Fe last week. I must say it was a pronounced slow down from my usual pace. All the food was wonderful and there was live entertainment everywhere we had dinner. The entertainment varied from country rock, to classical and opera, to World Music and blues. The area has over 140 art galleries and wonderful people who take time to visit with those who pass through. I plan on going back since this was also an affordable vacation for someone like me on a modest income.
It seems as though so much of my life has been seeking toward goals or destinations, even my work is about helping people achieve their goals. The thing I yearn for most is experiencing and enjoying the journey of whatever I am doing. Hopefully others out there have noticed that accomplishments are great but in retrospect the journey to those accomplishments is what we treasure most. How about you? What about your journey?

Hank's Birthday Surprise
We were all surprised and delighted with this extraordinary musical flower birthday candle recieved just for this occasion from his daughter Lorretta. Hank thought it would wind down but it kept playing until I cut the wire. He had no problems blowing out the candles but there was alot of smoke afterwards.

Visiting the North East

What a great time Mike and I had as we used plain, train, and automobile to experience a different part of the U.S. We started in Washington D.C., then on to Williamsburg VA where the whole town is about the reenactment of the beginning of the Revolutionary War, then on to VA beach for fun in the sun and sand. We traveled to Alexandria with her cobble stoned walkways then on to NYC area. We probably averaged 5 miles per day of walking so the trip was good for our health and the food was wonderful everywhere we went as well as the weather! We did several firsts on this trip, Harbor Tour at New York, getting a great view of the city, Ellis Island, and the Statue of Liberty, saw Mama Mia on Broadway, and walked in Central Park. I did find the garment district more than once and felt so at home combing through fabrics and trims in countless stores. This was Mike's celebration trip for retirement and I was the happy recipient of the great time. Thanks Mike.
