It seems as though so much of my life has been seeking toward goals or destinations, even my work is about helping people achieve their goals. The thing I yearn for most is experiencing and enjoying the journey of whatever I am doing. Hopefully others out there have noticed that accomplishments are great but in retrospect the journey to those accomplishments is what we treasure most. How about you? What about your journey?

Tag your it

My daughter in law tagged me as it to tell six things about myself. I tag Lucy and Rebbecca next. Hope to read their six things soon.
So here are my six things:
1. Presently I am passionate about my canidate for President for the U.S.(see photo, Mike and I at the political rally in KC last weekend)
2. I am compulsive when it comes to keeping busy, so sitting and doing nothing at all is actually hard for me.
3. I love to bake bread, cakes, cookes etc... not very good at pies yet
4. I love to excercise, yoga, palates and walking are my favorite
5. I love to read, and these days I especially love to read to my grandson Max.
6. I am passionate about making a difference for good in this world.

My sewing room play

I have so many fun fabrics that I needed to start using up so when I go to market I won't feel guilty for buying more. These are a couple of child gardening aprons I made. They criss cross in the back and button at the sides and have a three way divided pocket on the front to put gardening supplies while helping mom or grandma in the garden.

One of my favorite Poems
Solitude
Laugh, and the world laughs with you;
Weep, and you weep alone.
For the sad old earth must borrow it's mirth,
But has trouble enough of its own.
Sing, and the hills will answer;
Sigh, it is lost on the air.
The echoes bound to a joyful sound,
But shrink from voicing care.
Rejoice, and men will seek you;
Grieve, and they turn and go.
They want full measure of all your pleasure,
But they do not need your woe.
Be glad, and your friends are many;
Be sad, and you lose them all.
There are none to decline your nectared wine,
But alone you must drink life's gall.
Feast, and your halls are crowded;
Fast, and the world goes by.
Succeed and give, and it helps you live,
But no man can help you die.
There is room in the halls of pleasure
For a long and lordly train,
But one by one we must all file on
Through the narrow aisles of pain.

Great Book!
I started reading a new novel this past weekend. Away, by Amy Bloom, (A New York Times Best Seller) truly a fascinating read. It is filled with great characters and an epic story of a woman who has fled her home town in Russia and made her way to America. I don't want to share too much, but if you get a chance to enjoy a great read, this is a story that will draw you in.
